Perfect for family camping trips, dog friendly too, and in a great area for exploring North Cornwall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We love camp sites that are small, quiet and a little on the wild side; we tend to camp for 2 or 3 days at a time as opposed to a week or longer, and so this type of site just suits us and what we are looking for as a family. We tend to look for sites with lots of open space, and have loved discovering some brilliantly eco-friendly sites in the last couple of years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxcamping.co.uk\">Fox Camping<\/a> near Warbstow in Cornwall was a special find and we will definitely return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"gb-headline gb-headline-acc4e17f gb-headline-text\">What we loved:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Small family friendly site &#8211; this was a great place to spend time with the children. Just 10 pitches and lots of green space <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.greenercamping.org\">Greener Camping Club<\/a> &#8211; we loved the eco ethos and approach <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spectacular dark starry skies and amazing sunsets. The location over looking the cornish countryside is just perfect for this and you are away from any large areas of light, so the stars are so clear and the evenings so quiet <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No mains power which we actually loved. Their green credentials are something they are rightfully proud of and it was nice to properly switch off<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Great facilities &#8211; hot showers and flushing loos. All really well maintained <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Lovely owner &#8211; really helpful and thoughtful<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Camp fires and benches available to hire <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Home made pizza available, delivered to your tent! There are some areas we definitely want to return to as we ran out of time, but on this occasion we loved the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Boscastle <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Boscastle is so quirky and pretty. It feels a bit like stepping back in time and we loved the quiet relaxed pace of the area. There are lots of options for food and drink here (plus great ice cream of course!) and we found some nice fish and chips to enjoy in the sunshine. You can do lots of walking here, exploring the coast in different directions. We walked along the pretty shops\/harbour area and to the water. Here you can swim (although this is from the rocks so not necessarily for everyone). The water was absolutely stunning. There are toilets and parking so it is a good spot for families. Great spot for crabbing and we saw people enjoying paddle boarding\/kayaking too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Trebarwith Strand<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This was a new one for us and it is so pretty! There are a couple of car parks as you head down the hill to the tiny little strand, and form there you just walk down the quiet road to the sea. There are some beautiful little holiday cottages here and it would be a lovely place to stay. There are a couple of places to eat and a great seaside shop selling ice creams and snacks. We grabbed ice cream and sat on the rocks watching the water. You have to be very aware of the tide here. At high tide you can&#8217;t access the sand, but we enjoyed exploring the rocks. Would love to head back at low tide to adventure further. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Daymer Bay<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This was easily my favourite day of the trip. It was gorgeous weather and this is a really lovely beach. Soft golden sands, impressive sand dunes and coastal walks, rock pools to scramble over and the most beautiful crystal clear water. We all swam here and the boys absolutely loved it. I would spend many a day here I think. Beautiful. Car parking, toilets and snack shop all available. We parked at the top and wandered down the narrow streets to the port itself (it isn&#8217;t worth heading down in a car in my opinion!) Lots of lovely eateries, plenty of fish and chips and ice cream, and we loved just sitting and soaking up the sunshine. Lovely coastal walks here too, with great views. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Rock<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Another gorgeous spot to head to for time on the beach. It is such a pretty spot with views across the water to Padstow and beyond. Lovely soft golden sands and so much space! The boys were absolutely in their element. Great for ball games on the beach and paddling in the shallow waters. Rock has several places for food and drink and snacks, and is a really nice place to spend the day and then in to the evening for food. You can also get a water taxi\/ferry across to Padstow from here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Polzeath Beach <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We headed to Polzeath for the evening and it is a really lovely place to grab some food and spend the evening on the beach. There is so much space here so you can spread out and adventure to your hearts content. There are endless food choices; we opted for stone baked pizza on the beach.
